Day 41: Hidden Faults, Hidden Place
There are things in you that you cannot see. Psalm 19 asks God to clear you of them, and to bring you into a better hiding place.
Day 42: Set on High by the Name
A blessing is a word pointed at someone. Psalm 20 teaches you to speak one over a person who is in trouble today.
Day 43: What We Mention
Some trust in chariots. We say his name. What does your mouth reach for when you are afraid?
Day 44: The Desire of the Heart
Psalm 21 shows a king who received his heart's desire because he trusted in the LORD. Desires born of trust are desires God delights to answer.
Day 45: Made Glad With Your Face
You can't manufacture joy. Psalm 21 says it is given, and it is given at a face. Seek the face first and the feeling second.
Day 46: Why Have You Left Me
These are some of the most painful words in the Bible, and they are the words Jesus chose to pray from the cross.
Day 47: Roll It on the LORD
The mockers in Psalm 22 throw the language of faith back at the sufferer. The same words were shouted at Jesus on the cross.
Day 48: Poured Out
Some prayers are composed. This one is poured. Psalm 22 gives words to someone who can no longer hold together.
Day 49: From Forsaken to Answered
Psalm 22 turns on a single word. The same you, the same me, and the verb changes from forsaken to answered.
Day 50: Not Lacking
Four words in Hebrew, and nothing missing. Psalm 23 begins by telling you whom you belong to.
Day 51: He Brings Me Back
You will drift today. The promise is not that you won't, but that the Shepherd will keep bringing you back.
Day 52: You Are With Me
In the darkest valley, Psalm 23 stops talking about God and starts talking to him. Nearness changes how you speak.
Day 53: Palms and Heart
Clean hands and a pure heart: the outside and the inside. Where is one of them running ahead of the other in you?
Day 54: The King of the Glory
Ancient gates are told to lift their heads so the King of glory can come in. He is too great for the doorway, so the doorway must rise.
Day 55: I Lift My Soul
Everyone lifts their soul toward something. The only question is what. Where you lift your soul is where you live.
Day 56: The Inner Circle
God's covenant is not a contract slid across a desk. In Psalm 25 it is being let into the circle of his friends.
Day 57: See, and Carry
Two requests in one breath: notice my pain, and carry away my sin. Psalm 25 won't let you split them apart.
Day 58: Walking in Wholeness
Integrity isn't perfection. It is being in one piece, the same person in public and in private. Where are you two people?
Day 59: The Dwelling I Love
Before David says anything else, he says he loves where God lives. It is possible to love the idea of God more than his presence.
Day 60: A Sentence With No Verb
In Hebrew, "The LORD is my light" has no "is." It is not about what God does. It is about who he is.
